1.
Lawless vandal on the run, hinders my every move As you’re reaching for your gun my blood spits back on you I wake up the same more or less deranged fists in my face Street fights are starting to hurt Street life is bringing me down Cars that pass by all look away they don't wanna see the mess we're in A gut punch a side kick, I am now here we are back on the road again I wake up the same day after day Why cant things change? Street lights are robbing me blind We are in the garden We are in the light Hold on tighter darlin they will will steal you in the night
2.
See, believe, that all will fall Down to the ground can’t stop at all I need some peace I need it please Gimme the light in your room The aura of gospel Nights get so cold hunters swarm around me Liquors kiss handcuffed bliss still I swim while drowning Turn on the light in your room Amen Can't feel anymore I’m pulled under pulled under Cant see anymore
3.
Tussle 03:22
When I was in 3rd grade I learned how to fight It happened during recess playing a game I liked And when the ball hit me in the head I saw red Embarrassed I ran over slugged that kid in the neck I'm still fighting the same man today Always a tussle, in my head Then came 5th grade here comes another fight They said I couldn't beat him cause I was half his size I never even let him swing and when I watched him fall I picked him up from off the ground and shoved his head in the wall No I can not win when you hit the ground Every swing or miss I can't fix what I am now Another time in High School I got in brawl out with some friends we were playing baseball A guy started talking trash and said I couldn’t hit I ran over to second base and I punched him in the lip
4.
Took awhile for you to wake up and notice where you sleep Your head was being held down in the water deep But now you finally realized this city has dragged you down Start looking for your way out there's none around And I can't give you what you want If I can't see what you see When everything your building up breaks down it’s a super rough breakdown The cops are down on the corner the thieves they hide from the light Tell the prostitutes at the border just to stay out of sight I used to think I was better I used to think I was right See there ain't no law and order that will save us all tonight And what you want And what you need And what you say should be the same When the world has no order and nothing falls in line I made all the wrong decisions every single time Then the final straw comes crashing down as you make your way It lands on your shoulders with all the mistakes I’ve made
5.
Some slowly give up then they fade to grey Some are also saying that they're so full of faith There's a reason why they're never done making up their minds it's a vexing haul, to get through it all We could pop some pills, make it all go away Twenty five days there's no reason to pray I don't think this is the way our lives should go down Cause we don’t understand, what happens when I'm fascinated enough with you That you keep me holding on The final cut, the final stance, leaves me in a dark room Feeling, like black eye on a tiger everytime we catch up, I let go I can't deal with the things you know There's a reason why I always leave the things I found
6.
I've been wasting my time all that I’ve had I am losing my mind my head’s on the floor forevermore I have given you all that I had But with a slam of the door you've driven me mad now I'm sad Tell me what you want You have taken it all, all of my love Unrelenting you told you told me a lie so I can cry There aren't words for it all that I feel with a palm of your hand You pushed me for real what the deal? want it now? So tell me now wishing to god you say you’re gonna miss me Crossing my fingers that you say you're gonna kiss me I got my fingers crossed you'll kiss me one more time I can't take anymore
7.
My friends are all crazy, They'd go out after dark smokin drinking in the bars all night long, they're the wild ones My friends are all crazy They'd go out to a show choppin lines, doing blow nights are long they're the wild ones So don't ask me, for them, to leave again cause they've always had my back They've always had that They'd go out to club dance all night looking for love and end up with nothing at all And I say don't let this night go and turn into another lonely tomorrow with no one to call Cause I've seen all the trouble they bring
8.
It's the thing you can't tame standing in your way You'll never get passed So you’re turning around but this thing hunts you down Back where the standoff began And all they'll say when a fool is fooled Is you let the worst of you run through And all they'll say when cool ain’t cool Is you let the best of you hideaway It’s the endless test of time fight for your mind Mountains you must climb With every chance and choice find your own voice No condemnation lasts
9.
I can't see clearly here in Oakland I can't leave even though I need to find a new home The fog is thick I remember this with us A girl like you should not have been stuck with this mistrust But the torrid feelings still get me and they always will If I can't save you from the wolves tonight Just sit baby ‘til I arrive Here in Oakland I can't buy drinks for my friends The ones I’ve lost the ones can't make amends to
10.
You gonna be the one whose back’s against the wall determined not to crawl You gonna be the one who stands in front of a crowd and tells them they're all wrong Gonna be the one sometimes

about

The 10-track album, Street Fights Are Starting To Hurt, is a gritty and soulful exploration of life's battles, deeply rooted in rock, alternative, and post-punk influences. It transcends being just an album; it's a visceral journey through the highs and lows of the human experience, inviting listeners to connect with its authenticity and soul-stirring melodies. I wrote all the lyrics and music and it is produced and mixed by Kyle Homme (Matt Costa, Sugarcult, Reel Big Fish).
